The Eurovolley International Brussels Tournament is back!
Here we go again! After a painful pause of two years, forced by COVID-19, our traditional International Mixed-Volleyball-Tournament took place again on 11 June 2022. There were 12 teams present, amongst them good old friends from Paris and Luxembourg and from the Brussels institutions like the EU-Council and NATO. They all showed that they have not forgotten how to play volleyball.
Main price this year was the "Coupe Xavier Ziani", a Cup bearing the name of a great guy and volleyball player who has played - an won - Brussels Tournament with "Paris Pourris" many times and who passed away suddenly last winter. In the end it were his teammates from Paris Pourris who won it. The second place was for the Eurovolley Team "Mussels from Brussels", followed by The Council.
The tournament was concluded by the traditional players-party - this time in Tennis Club Wahis.

Quatro-Beach-Loisir-Tournament in Mont-Saint-Guibert 2021
It's been a long time without volleyball tournaments. But for the first time since the pandemic struck, Eurovolley was back on competition court on 03 July 2021! The "VolleySaurs" (from left: Philippe, Kostas, Alex, Mari and Frank) started slow into their first match at the "Axis Beach" Quatro-Beach-Loisir-Tournament in Mont-Saint-Guibert. But then they got going, won their pool of 6 Teams and beat a dynamic Youngsters-Team in semi-finals. In the final - played in pouring rain - they faced a Family-Team, with one of the youngsters playing in the Belgian U17 National Team. The VolleySaurs won the first set and lost the second. With one set each and 23:23 points, extra-time had to decide. In the end Eurovolley had to settle for second place with 24:26. But that could not overshadow the joy of being back to competition! :)

Luxembourg Tournament 2019
Two teams represented our club at the Luxembourg-Tournament on 15.6.2019. Unfortunately injuries reduced the "Eurovolley Brussels" team to 4 (later even 3) players but "with a little help of our friends" they managed to end 9th out of 14 teams in the end. The "Volley-Saurs" also showed that they still know how to play volleyball and ended 11th.
As always the Luxembourg-tournament-weather was fine so we enjoyed the traditional barbecue and the evening dinner. A special thanks goes to our dedicated supporters Levine and George who came all the way to cheer Eurovolley on!

Nations Tournament 2019
It was a nice "Farewell-Gift" to Karel and Stefan, who will leave Brussels this summer: Our Czech and Slovak members managed to add another victory at the traditional Eurovolley Nations Tournament to their previous successes. After two very enjoyable evenings the Team Czechia/Slovakia came out on top in front of our strong Polish Community.
Thanks to some newcomers Germany managed (after a couple of years) to have an own team again which ended on third place and of course our many Italian members put a good team together too.
The closing "European Buffet" in the foyer was the last highlight of this indoor-season. Thanks to all who participated in the 2019 edition of the Nations tournament!
Final standings:
1. Czechia/Slovakia
2. Poland
3. Germany
4. Italy
5. Pan-European team
6. Belgium/France
7. Greece/Slovenia

Slovenia Team ends Paris record-winning-series in Brussels
On 10th of June 2017 it was the Eurovolley-event of the year again: 14 teams (around 100
volleyball-players) had a long day full of good volleyball and good fun at the International Mixed Tournament. Visiting teams travelled from France, Italy and Slovenia.
After 51 matches it ended with a real sporting drama. The final on a very high level between "Slovenia Team" and "Paris Pourris" ended 15:12, 12:15.
A "Golden Point" had to decide the winner and that point went to the Slovenians. They ended a giant winning-serie of Paris Pourris, who have won our Tournament at least 13 times in a row (nobody in the club really remembers how often exactly)! Great sport! To be continued next year.
Not to mention, that the big players-party afterwards was on an equally high level of fun and went on until the early morning hour!
